Dr. Edelson has been a teacher at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto from 1972 until the present.Dr. Edelson is the founding president of the Ontario Society of Endodontists, and past-president of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics, and the George Hare Endodontic Study Club. He is a Member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (the examining body for dental specialists in Canada) .He is also a Member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) honour dental society. Dr. Joel Edelson received his DDS from the University of Toronto in 1967 and then spent a year as the first dental intern at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. He received his specialty endodontic degree from Temple University in 1971.
